Tipton County Weekly Arrest Reports
The Covington Leader prints each Thursday and runs an "Under arrest" list inside its digital issue. Each list covers people booked at the Tipton County Correctional Facility during the prior Sunday-through-Saturday week. Think newspaper, not sheriff feed. It is not a complete roster, and it does not promise anyone is still in custody. The paper has covered stretches like Oct. 12–18, Oct. 26–Nov. 1, and Jan. 25–31. Because the list appears days after the bookings, an entry may be nearly a week old by publication. Which names make the list can change from issue to issue.
Keep three dates separate: the issue date, the stated coverage window, and each person's booking date. They do not always agree.
Reading Tipton County Arrest Reports
Open the dated issue and find the "Under arrest" section. Note the stated range and each agency code. Save the PDF URL and the publication date. For custody questions, check Corrections; for the case result, go to the originating clerk.
- Record the issue date and stated Sunday-through-Saturday window.
- Match the exact name, age, charge wording, booking date, and agency abbreviation.
- Do not infer incident location from the booking facility.
- Call Corrections at 901-475-3305 for current county custody.
- Use a records request for a booking sheet or older range.

Fields in Tipton Arrest Reports
The list publishes a narrow, useful field set. It draws on no sheriff internal database and carries no booking photographs.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | Published identity; compare with official identifiers |
| Age | Age in the newspaper, not a full birth date |
| Charge | Charge as reported |
| Booking date | Facility intake date, distinct from issue date |
| Agency | APD, CPD, MUPD, TCSO, or another label |
| Photo | None in reviewed lists |
Do not assume bond, release, statute number, full booking time, or disposition when the list leaves them out. Ask the agency that holds the record or the court.
Agency Codes Link City Arrests
The codes map each entry to its agency. APD means Atoka Police, CPD means Covington Police, MUPD means Munford Police, and TCSO is the Sheriff's Office. That crosswalk points you toward the likely incident-report custodian, though it cannot tell you where the conduct occurred, which court will finish the case, or whether the person is still in custody. The Nov. 6 issue shows the weekly publication format.

The capture is secondary newspaper evidence and should be checked against official records.
Tipton Blotter Date Mismatches
One Jan. 8, 2026 issue prints a Dec. 28 through Jan. 3 window, yet searchable entries beside it carry September dates. Production slips, copying errors, or a data import could explain the mix. September bookings were not current in January. A careful citation keeps all three clocks. Those are the issue date, the printed window, and the date beside the name. When an entry looks off, confirm with Corrections, the arresting agency, or the court. This local quirk explains why. A weekly arrest report should never be mistaken for an official database export.
Weekend Tipton Arrest Coverage
Publication windows close on Saturday and land in the following Thursday issue. That rhythm sweeps weekend bookings into a later edition. It is an editorial cadence, not a "weekend surge" count. It is no promise that every booking appears, either. Holidays or production changes can shift the schedule. The paper publishes no guaranteed holiday calendar. There is no overnight batch or Monday update to wait for. For a firm answer on custody, go straight to Corrections.
Tipton Arrest Report Archives
The newspaper stores issue PDFs in its upload archive. It commits to no retention term, though. A saved PDF can outlive the jail's own systems, or vanish without warning. When citing an entry, keep the source URL and date. For older records, start with the Sheriff's custodian. Ask which retention schedule and series cover booking sheets, jail registers, and photographs. Tennessee's framework points to CTAS, MTAS, and Secretary of State guidance. No Tipton booking files have been transferred to the State Library and Archives.
News and Private Arrest Sources
The Leader's public-safety section runs individual stories and operation reports. A single story is not a full blotter. Busted Newspaper hosts a private Tipton County section that may include extra fields and photos. Mugshots.com lists a Tipton category too. Neither site is official, and neither shows current custody or a final court result. RecentlyBooked carries no Tipton County, Tennessee section; its Tipton listings concern Indiana. Arrests.org and Mugshots.zone list no county-local section for Tipton either. Never swap in a different county or state. Check anything you find against official sources.
Verify a Tipton Arrest Entry
Verify in layers. Call Corrections for present custody. Ask the Sheriff for the booking sheet when you need documentary detail. The arresting city agency holds the incident report. The originating court clerk handles hearings and disposition. Each office owns a different piece of the record, so one call rarely settles everything. The newspaper report does not decide the case; only the court does.
